This can be done automatically with the Geo Sort Host Selection option in the server settings. Configure all the hosts with the public address set to the address of the server, not a load balancer. Add all the hosts to one server and set the replication count equal to the host count. The client will then use lookup each host with a GeoIP database to connect to the closest host.
