Pritunl Client v1.3.4559.86 has been released. This release adds a new interface layout, improved macOS title bar, bundled WireGuard support on Windows, OpenVPN 2.7 support, OpenVPN DCO support, several DNS improvements and debugging options. The Pritunl Client homepage has also been redesigned.
New Interface Layout
The interface will now display a grid layout when expanded. This allows managing more profiles without needing to scroll through the profile list. When the interface is small it will return to the condensed minimized list view. The frameless mode on Linux has also been improved.
Improved macOS Title Bar
The macOS client will now use the standard system title bar buttons on the left side.
OpenVPN 2.7 Support
Both the macOS and Windows client are now bundled with the latest OpenVPN 2.7.0 builds.
OpenVPN DCO Support
The client now includes an option to enable data-channel offload. This provides improved bandwidth performance on supported platforms. This requires also updating to the latest Pritunl server and enabling the DCO option in the server settings. Currently this will only work on Windows which comes bundled with the DCO driver and on Linux if the distributions kernel has the ovpn-dco module.
DNS Improvements
Several improvements have been made to DNS support. The DNS search domain is now working for both OpenVPN and WireGuard on macOS, Windows and Linux distributions that have OpenVPN 2.7.0 available. The OpenVPN 2.7.0 DNS code for Linux is a significant improvement and when the distribution has the latest OpenVPN package available this new DNS method will be used.
Debugging Options
The debugging output option has been added to the profile settings to display more output in the profile logs. The disable browser open option has also been added to the advanced settings to disable automatically opening the web browser for single sign-on. This is useful for platforms where multiple browsers or other issues prevent the automatic opening from correctly working. The single sign-on link can be copied and manually opened.
Redesigned Homepage
The Pritunl Client homepage has been redesigned with the same Tailwind based pritunl/pritunl-pages platform used for the new Pritunl Cloud homepage. This will also be used to complete the redesign of the Pritunl and Pritunl Zero homepages.
