Silent Client update, but keeping the profile

I have the following problem. I am using a software distribution solution. Through this, I distributed an older version of Pritunl and subsequently also profiles. So far, so good. Now I want to update the Pritunl client, but my profiles are lost in the process. What would be the correct way to keep them?
Copy the content from Program Data and reinsert it after updating Pritunl?

Have you had any experience with this?

An update shouldn’t effect profiles. The client debugging documentation has all the paths used for data. Most profiles will be in C:\Users\USERNAME\AppData\Roaming\pritunl\profiles\PROFILE_ID.ovpn. Only the system profiles are stored in Program Data which are typically used for autostart profiles.
