South Asia Outage

From 2:25AM - 3:20AM PST (5:25AM - 6:20AM EST) (3:55PM - 4:50PM IST) a routing issue between Oracle Cloud us-ashburn-1 where the Pritunl service servers are located and South Asia data centers including AWS ap-south-1 and Google Cloud asia-south1 blocked connectivity. This caused issues with subscription verification and single sign-on.

It appears to have been a routing issue with some of the Oracle Cloud IP ranges to South Asia as other Pritunl services on different IP ranges remained available in the region. No additional information could be found on the cause of the issue. No increase in error rates occurred on any of the Pritunl service servers and all the services remained available in all other regions.

If you are concerned with server accessibility in an outage impacting single sign-on consider creating a server that has device authentication configured and add network administrators to have this available during an outage. Device authentication uses the hardware TPM/Apple Secure Enclave and offers highly secure authentication that is not dependent on third party single sign-on services.
